The world's leading private security organization, G4S, has an immediate job opportunity for a Security Control Center Operation Operator (SOC) Team Leader. Security Control Center Operation Operator (SOC) Team Leader is a 24/7 operation which provides security operations team with a comprehensive "edge-to-endpoint" monitoring approach to provide broad visibility of activity across the facility infrastructure, and leverages intelligence from several systems and technology database that provide advance correlation and analysis capability to deliver a prioritized list of actionable security incidents to the security operations team.  The SOC Team Leader is responsible for the supervision of the SOC operators as well as functions within an SOC post during the shift.  The SOC Team Leader position is designed to ensure all safety, security and facility related alarms, services and emergency situation are responded to in a timely manner. The SOC Team Leader must have excellent customer service skills and be able to multi-task during various safety and security situations. Further, he/she must have the ability to communicate properly and motivate the team.

Specific Duties and Essential Functions

  • Direct supervision of SOC Operators; manage daily workload and prioritize tasks among team members
  • Reporting and notifications; providing interface during critical and non-critical emergency events from report to resolution; providing constant information updates wherever applicable in an effort to ensure situation, events, incidents are resolved in an appropriate manner
  • Customer service; ensure that all forms of communication (email, phone conversation etc.) are all done in a courteous and professional manner; serving as an emergency information HUB system for a high-profile client
  • Life safety and emergency response; ability to guide and assist clients during emergency and non-emergency situational phone calls
  • Report-writing: Write accurate and detailed accounts of reported security incidents
  • Perform data entry in a timely, accurate and exclusive manner
  • Escalate incidents to the Supervisor immediately when unable to manage the situation at his/her level or when procedure requires for this to be done
  • Deal with issues and incidents that are potentially sensitive, confidential or may put persons at risk
  • Provide alarm monitoring via access control systems and video management systems (VMS), robbery, duress and alarm events
  • Review surveillance footage and create DVDs which will be provided to Senior Management
  • Dispatch security guards and/or police officers
  • Perform active monitoring of various security systems, for reasons such as vagrancy and post robbery incidents
  • Perform active monitoring of multiple new sources and social media
  • Follow procedures, work instructions and other directions from Supervisors or Stakeholders
  • Participate in departmental meetings as required

Education, Licenses and Certifications Required

  • Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to obtain and maintain all necessary state or federal licensing requirement
  • Must possess a New Jersey Security Officer Registration Act (SORA) license

Type and Length of Specific Experience Required

  • Must possess a minimum of two (2) or more years of work experience in a professional customer service role
  • Must possess a minimum of two (2) or more years of work experience in a high call volume Call Center
  • Demonstrated experience in critical environments where decision-making and actions can impact life-safety and business continuity
  • Experience with network/telecommunications technology
  • Work history to demonstrate proficiency with the following:
    • Analytic and critical thinking skills
    • Ability to prioritize workload based on urgency
    • High level of competency with advance computer systems (e.g., hardware, software and networks)
    • Knowledge of various security systems/devices, such as video management systems (VMS), access control systems, alarm monitoring, biometric security systems and additional devices and sensors related to security

  • Must be at least 18 years old or the minimum age required by the state, if higher
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or a foreign citizen authorized to legally work in the United States
  • Subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law
  • Must be able to provide, upon job offer, a DD214 discharge document with discharge status indicated, if prior military

Physical Requirements and Environment

Environment:  Office/Control Center; minimal to no exposure to extreme temperatures is expected.

Major activity:  Working on PC and using telephone/radio while sitting or standing

Physical efforts to carry out job duties:    Limited, to include some standing, bending, limited stretching and reaching.
