Whole Foods Market is seeking a Professional SCCM Systems Admin to join their Technical Architecture team responsible for designing and distributing new technology solutions across their retail footprint. This professional level retail engineering role is part of a team responsible for the development and management of our retail infrastructure. Day to day activities of this role includes engineering solutions within the customer facing technologies group as well as creating, managing, and updating retail hardware images. The ideal candidate must live and breathe collaboration, cooperation and communication as this role will work closely with other technology teams, vendors and business partners to build win-win relationships.

Job Description

  • Develops and maintains OS builds for embedded POS systems in the retail store environment; packages and schedules these for SCCM deployment
  • Build automated tools to perform maintenance tasks to install, configure, tests, patch, and upgrade MS server 2012, MS Windows 10 and MS Windows 7 embedded systems
  • Works with development to automate, build and test POS software releases for deployment via SCCM to ensure smooth code rollouts
  • Architect new builds and packages for new applications and/or hardware being deployed to the stores
  • Investigate feasibility of new solutions for architecture compatibility within the existing store infrastructure environments
  • Configure, implement, monitor and maintain development, test, and QA environments
  • Provide business- and after-hours Tier 3 support of Retail Infrastructure environment on a rotation basis
  • Troubleshoot system malfunctions and/or other unsatisfactory occurrences, and provide analysis and recommendations for resolution and prevention
  • Monitor and analyze system performance and provide recommendations for improvement, including system tuning and hardware integration
  • Provide input into system design and capacity planning
  • Provide documentation and training to Tier 2 store support teams
  • Build security, support, and testing policies and procedures for the retail environment
  • Participate in external vendor management issues
  • Some travel will be required (up to 5-10% annually)

Requirements

  • 2 years of experience managing enterprise wide software deployment tool MS SCCM
  • 1 years of experience with PowerShell
  • 1 years of experience with MS Active Directory for system configuration and security policy enforcement
  • Experience implementing and supporting Windows clients with a preference in a retail environment
  • Experience with system hardware architecture and implementation
  • Strong interdisciplinary problem solving skills, demonstrated by frequent and successful application of technical standards, theories, concepts, and techniques
  • Understanding of networking concepts such as DNS, DHCP, Email, HTTP, SSL, and TCP/IP protocols and application
  • Experience providing remote support and troubleshooting
  • Knowledge of POS related software a plus
  • 4 year degree in Computer Science preferred
  • PCI or SOX compliance experience helpful
  • Android experience helpful
  • Splunk knowledge beneficial
