Theincumbent is responsible for supporting, and enhancing theSantander Bank and the Santander US PrivacyProgram; developing policies and procedures to promote and confirm compliancewith federal and state privacy laws and regulations (e.g. GLBA, FCRA, FACTA,TCPA, CAN-SPAM, etc.) and industry best practices; as well as providingon-going guidance on Privacy issues.

  • Monitor ongoing state and federal legislation and industry trends to ensure a competitive Privacy Program.
  • Develop and implement a corporate-wide Privacy training program in conjunction with Compliance and Human Resources.
  • Evaluate proposed vendors for privacy risk and conduct annual vendor privacy review.
  • Provide support for marketing initiatives, customer data sharing and customer preferences.
  • Support risk assessments and control implementations for Privacy laws and regulations.
  • Monitor and assess pending legislation at a state and federal level.
  • Responsible for oversight of Business Unit operations to ensure compliance with applicable Privacy laws and regulations.
  •  Enhance, implement, and operate a comprehensive Privacy Program that is sustainable in a technologically advanced financial marketing, including managing and successfully implementing privacy compliance projects, as well as drafting and evaluating policies and procedures as needed.

  • Ten or more years’ experience in the Financial Services industry with a Privacy, Compliance, or Legal background.
  • Ability to synthesize information from a wide range of sources.
  • Deep understanding of privacy laws both at federal and state level and how they impact financial institutions.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability in order to influence colleagues at all levels throughout the organization.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Proven analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Strong management and organizational skills, including ability to prioritize several projects at a time and drive for success.
